Rules & Regulations

 

  1.  All pullers are to sign waiver at all pulls.  Puller under 18 yrs of age, must have parent or guardian sign waiver also.


2.  All pullers must wear shoes, shirt, long pants, and D.O.T. approved helmet.  Fire suits are recommended in all unlimited R.P.M. classes.


3.  Pullers and Authorized Track personnel, ONLY, on the track.


4.  Whenever the sled is pulled back to the starting line, the next driver has 2 minutes to hook up and start their pull after the sled is set.

 

5.  The number one puller in each class will be the test puller and may take the pull if working conditions of the sled are satisfactory, as determined by Track Officials.  They may then have the option to take a second pull in the 3rd or 6th position and forfeit the first pull distance.  If the sled needs adjustment, the first puller after the adjustment is made will then pull as the first puller in the class.  All decisions MUST be made BEFORE the puller is unhooked from the sled.  Any re-pulls caused by equipment malfunction, the puller will immediately re-hook.  If Test Puller is disqualified on his first pull, he is still able to take a second pull in the 3rd or 6th position. 

 

6.  Once a puller drops out of a class, he may not re-enter the class. 

 

7.  Each tractor can pull twice in a hp class, but only once in a weight class.  Jumping classes is permitted, as long as a tractor does not over-qualify for the class. Stock tractors can not jump to SA classes 

 

8.  Pullers must attempt to stop before the 25 ft marker and re-pull as long as they did not cross the side lines.  Each puller will have 2 attempts to start the sled within 25 ft.

 

9.  All tractors will be weighed and hitch checked with the driver sitting on the seat with his/her helmet. 

 

10.  Front weight bar measured from center of the rear end forward and may not exceed 84 inches.  Rear weights measured from center of rear end backward may not exceed 18 inches.  Tractor with weights and bars must not exceed 4 ft, and must fit on the scales.  All weights and bars must clear scales to avoid damage to equipment.  If tractor fails to clear the scales (weights or weight bar), you will be disqualified until the problem is fixed.

 

11.  Weights may be moved from one place to another after weigh in, as long as no more weight is added.  Tractors will be confined to line up area after crossing scales.  Any tractor leaving this area will be re-weighed or be disqualified. 

 

12.  All weights must be safely secured to the tractor.  No weights are permitted on the seat and cannot be higher than the seat.  Anything lost during the pull is cause for disqualification.  If the front tires are in the air when the flagman flags the tractor indicating the pull is over, and contact with the ground causes an object to be lost, the puller will not be disqualified.

 

13.  All tractors must report to scales to weigh out.  Winning tractors will be weighed, teched, and hitch checked following their pull.  (This rule may not always be in effect, but can be put into effect without notice.)  Track Official Tach will be the only Official tach for determining R.P.M.'s. 

 

14.  All pullers must start with tight hitch.  All tractors must have a stationary (minimum 1 1/2 inch) horizontal "D" ring or hitch approved by track official. No "drop" type hitches.  No portion of the tractor must interfere with the transfer machine, chain, or hook during the pull or while being hooked or unhooked.  Hitch and Kill switch must be easily accessible.  Kill switch must have minimum 1 inch ring. 

 

15.  Any tractor may shift gears during a pull without stopping. 

 

16.  No adjustments can be made as the tractor is pulling down the track. 

 

17.  All tractors must have a seat with a back or aluminum with a 3 inch rigid back and must remain in position during the pull.  The driver MUST REMAIN IN THE SEAT, but not on the seat back, with one hand FULL GRASP (No finger tipping) on the wheel at all times.  Both feet must remained straddled on the tractor or puller will be disqualified. 

 

18.  Pullers must keep their machines under control at all times on and off the track.  NO EXCESSIVE SPEED WILL BE TOLERATED on the grounds of the pull.  There will be only ONE warning, the second time you will be asked to load up and leave and entry fees will not be refunded.   


 

19.  All tractors must have a hood, grill, seat, and fenders suitable for protecting the driver.  All pulleys and belts must be covered, except generator belt.  You must have 1/8 inch steel, or 3/16 inch aluminum shield covering clutch on all tractors, shields covering flywheel and covering block opposite Cam (top of block to oil pan) on open R.P.M. Tractors. 


 

20.  All tractors must have working reverse and brakes.  Stock altered tractors may choose not to have reverse, but they must unhook themselves.


 

21.  Only 4 cycle engines are permitted, except open class. 


 

22.  Exhaust may be changed to straight pipe, but must discharge vertically at 90 degrees upward.   


 

23.  No dual wheels, tire chains, studded, or ATV tires permitted.  Stock Classes may run cut tires.


 

24.  Pump gas only.  Must meet .750 specific gravity.  NO pressurized fuel tanks, NO additives.  No alcohol.


 

25.  Wheelie bars are required for your safety.  Wheels must be 1 inch wide minimum.  Pads must be in a fixed positioned 1 1/2 inches wide minimum with a 3 square inch coverage minimum.  Wheels or pads must be at least 5 inches and no higher than 5 inches from the ground.  All tractors must have  working Kill Switch and must be easily accessible. 


 

26.  Wheelie bars must be able to support weight of tractor with driver on seat. 


 

27.  FIGHTING BETWEEN PULLERS WILL BE GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATION OF ALL PARTIES INVOLVED!!.......Complaint will be Heard and Ruled on in a Reasonable Manner!!  Protest must be submitted with $100.00 ($20.00 of which goes to the club).  Person being protested must present their tractor to the tech official to be checked.  If found legal, they will get $80.00.  If not, the person filing the protest gets $80.00 of his money back.  Any person refusing to be checked will be disqualified and can not pull until proven legal. 


 

28.  Internal violations will be the owner/operators responsibility to tear down the tractor at the request of G.P.U.  Owner/operator can take option of having a designated person authorized by G.P.U. to do the tear down.  The violation will have to be corrected and have approval of G.P.U. before the tractor is allowed to pull again. 


 

29.  No Alcoholic Beverages or Illegal Drugs will be permitted on the grounds of an event.  No intoxicated or impaired driver will be allowed to pull.  Anyone violating this rule will be removed from the grounds.


 

30.  Drivers may not smoke while hooked to weight machine. 


 

31.  Registration closes 15 minutes before the pull is scheduled to begin.  Drivers must arrive early, pick classes, and register.  No changing classes once pull begins.  Refunds for scratches will be authorized by G.P.U. only. 


 

32.  Payouts or Awards will not take place until the last tractor in the last class pulls.
